Hello from St. Martin

Good evening from the French side of St. Martin. We arrived just after 8am this morning. We spent the day clearing customs (easiest yet) and exploring the French side of the island. This evening we took a dinghy ride over to the Dutch side (about 3 miles away). A real glaring contrast....think of the difference between Newark, NJ, and Rodeo Drive, Beverly Hills. The French side is boutiques, bakeries, baguettes, LaCoste, Adidas, Dior, Gucci, Prada, Versace etc., versus working boat yards, sunken boats in the harbor from long ago hurricanes, broken down sports bars, T-shirts and a giant multi-screen movie theater. Back we went to the French side !!
